Nataliya Zozulya
During her career as a professional artist, Nataliya has completed a number of projects, each having a distinct theme.
Her favourite genre is portraiture. She has an ability to capture not only the exact likeness of her sitters but also their character and a sense of their inner being.
She likes to travel and always paints in situ, bringing new landscapes to the studio. Strong, dazzling colours, extraordinary light and energy of Asia, North Africa and East Asia have influenced her palette in the past and give a vibrancy to her new set of figurative paintings entitled 'Travels”
After settling in London in 2005, Nataliya did a few series of cityscapes in muffled, reserved colours in a realistic style. She tried to portray the city, void of the immediate physical presence of people whose influence, though, can be felt in every scene.
One of the last projects she has been working on, “Frieze”, was inspired by the "Triumph of Caesar". When observing the inexorable flow of the crowds, she was trying to illustrate the multicultural society of a modern time megalopolis.
Nataliya is exhibiting in Wimbledon Art Studios' open days, Chelsea Art Society, Riverside Gallery (Richmond) and the Fountain Gallery. In 2011, she was invited to Henley Royal Regatta and, since then she has regularly exhibited in the Gallery in the Stewards' Enclosure.
