Quiet Music in Nature — Kitty Wass

Paintings evoking the flight of hummingbirds in Ecuador - alongside magical and semi abstract moonlit garden landscapes.

Kitty uses imagery drawn from her imagination, sketches and photographs. ‘Paintings reflect layers of feeling, of joy, curiosity, mystical landscapes and the souls of humming birds flying to heaven. She paints in series of small jewel-like canvases with titles such as Mythology, Cold, Gardens, Ecuadorean Hummingbirds.

The imagery for The Fountain Gallery focusses on gardens and the wider landscape... that place of refuge for so many of us during 2020... and fond memories of travels abroad. The moon and sun sometimes appear to create a magical scene. The preparation of the surface of a new canvas often initiates the subject and composition of a painting. This texture and colour connects paintings to her jewellery and her initial career as a textile designer.

Kitty is also showing jewellery.
